5 Good Things

So the weather man said we’ll be in the 90s by the end of the week, and I’m not happy about it. I loved the cooler temperatures from the weekend. I spent most of Saturday outside on the deck under the umbrella with a new book. Can you believe I got Bernie smiling for the camera? I’m framing that photo. I also came across a few other things I wanted to share with you.

I bought the navy version of this dress (no longer available) when it was on sale for $15. (If it isn’t that price today, just wait a few days because the sale changes every other day it seems.) I got it on a whim because I’ve been wanting to add a few sundresses to my summer wardrobe. If all I’m going to get to do is “travel” to my porch, then I want a cute dress to do it in. I am a sucker for a halter top and was surprised to find a crisscross detail in the back with the straps- apparently I didn’t look too closely at the details when I ordered it. It was a happy surprise, though. Order your true size. It fits like a dream.

I also have my eye on another dress from Target that I can’t quit thinking about. It’s such a beautiful shade of green and oh so cute.

One in a Million: Kelk, Lindsey: 9780008239046: Amazon.com: Books

This Saturday, I started a new book called One in a Million by Lindsey Kelk. It’s a modern day My Fair Lady where a social media-clueless man is turned into an Instagram star. I know it sounds a little shallow, but given the state of our world at the moment, something a little more light-hearted is just what I needed. It’s turning out to be really great and is definitely a page-turner.

I knew that when I painted my apartment that I’d want to start sprucing other things up. And I’m not sure what’s happened to me, but I am craving color in my life. Y’all know my love of a black and white palette runs DEEP. But I want color in my wardrobe, and I want color in my house. So, I bought these curtains from Target, and they definitely brought the color. Of course the rug is all wrong now, and I’m dying for new pillows, and I may have to change the kitchen curtains, and who even knows what kind of artwork I want. Well, technically I know, but I haven’t approached Stacey with the idea and gotten her pricing. 🙂 The good news is, I have all kinds of time to figure it out. I’ll keep you posted.

I shared on Instagram that I had gotten in a few samples of the new C serum from Beautycounter. I wasn’t all the excited about it to be quite honest, but once I saw how great the reviews were, I had to see for myself. Well, it’s lived up to the hype! I love it! It already has low inventory on the website which means it’s so popular and so darn amazing! Hurry and scoop one up for yourself.

BRIGHT MOON All Weather Bracelets Set Colorful Jelly Bangles deep ...

Lastly, I’ve been wearing these gold all-weather bangles for a long time. I noticed one day at Wisteria Cottage that they had a set of gold and silver ones. I scooped up the gold ones immediately. They very closely resemble a much pricier set by Buddha Girl. I hear the quality of Buddha Girl is superb and the sentiment behind the number of bracelets in the set is quite lovely. But they were a little out of my teacher salary price range, so I opted for the knock-offs. If you want the real thing, please consider purchasing through my friends at Simply Chic Baton Rouge, and tell Kelley I sent you! It may not be shopping local, but it’s shopping small, and if I still lived in Louisiana, I’d probably be working weekends for her just like I do for Lauren and Susie here at Wisteria. If you want a knock-off, see if True South has them (they used to) or The Pineapple (they used to as well). Wisteria is all sold out. If they don’t have them, you can find them here.
I wear them almost everyday. They’re weightless, silent, can get wet, and are comfortable to wear. They come in gold, silver, rose gold, red, black, etc. I think they’re a fun way to add a subtle dose of glam to your wardrobe.

Alright, friends, that’s what I know to be good. I hope you’ve had a great Monday!
