Gift Guide for the Guys

If I’m being honest, I wasn’t going to write this. I asked two different men what were some of their favorite things in their home. You know, things they use everyday or things they wouldn’t want to live without. The first answer from both was beer. The second from one of them was Crocs. Oh boy… At least their standards aren’t too high. #silverlining

Needless to say, I made them think a little harder, and they came up with some decent things, so I’m giving it a go and sharing them with you. Men are notoriously hard to shop for, so my hope is that you’ll find something that the men in your life would like for Christmas. Here goes nothing…

  1. Weber Charcoal Grill– When I asked the question to the guys, they were cooking on this grill. It’s served us quite well over the eight years we’ve been married, and the ash catcher basket provides super easy cleanup. I recommend getting one of those chimney starters for starting your fire to go along with it. It’s a game changer.
  2. Ozark Trail Cooler Bag– Sure, you can get a Yeti or a RTIC, but why not get the same thing for a fraction of the price? They truly keep ice cold for, like, ever and are easily transported with the short and long straps. This one will hold 30 cans. Great gift idea.
  3. Lifeproof Case– If you’re like me and hard on your cases, you probably go through them quickly if they aren’t meant to withstand a little banging around. Enter the Lifeproof Case. It’s pricey, but it’s build to last. Not to mention the price of phones nowadays. It feels like the equivalent of selling your soul. I think it’s worth the effort and money to protect them.
  4. ThermoPro Meat Thermometer– We first learned of this nifty gadget from our Louisiana friends. Paul and Aaron got the notion to smoke a brisket overnight. They used Aaron’s very cool thermometer that had a wireless remote. There’s way too many cool things about it to say here. Follow the link to check it out. I gave one to Paul for his birthday this year, and we’ve really enjoyed it.
  5. MVMT Watch– Paul’s not a big watch guy, but Wesley, the other guy coming up with this list for me, mentioned this watch brand, and they are good! There are ten collections of watches for men. All are beautiful, and all are so well priced. The watch I’ve linked is the most classic looking and is only $100.
  6. Crocs– I can’t believe I put this on here. I advise against these ugly shoes but to each his own. 🙂
  7. Grill Set– You can’t have a good grill without a good grill set. This stainless steel one from Cuisinart is very nice. I’d also suggest getting metal skewers for kabobs. That’d make a nice stocking stuffer if you were getting the grill and grill set.
  8. Beer– Maybe your guy likes good old light beer. But if he likes something a little different and is a fan of the craft beers, consider one of the variety boxes at World Market. I gave Paul a Local Brews box from there one year, and he enjoyed trying several local brands. If there’s a favorite brewery of his around, head in and see if you can buy a growler or if they’ll bottle you up a six pack for a gift. He’ll love it!
  9. Dollar Shave Club– We’ve never used this before, but both guys were interested in this setup. What I’ve learned is that you get to choose your box (shave, shower, or teeth). You choose a starter box for $5, they send you sample sizes, and in two weeks they send you the restock box for a little more than the initial $5 you paid. After three months, the next restock box ships unless you say otherwise. It sounds easy enough and easy to cancel if you didn’t like it.
  10. Extra Long Phone Charger– After beer and crocs, they said they needed a long charger in every room. I would have to agree. It’s nice having those longer chargers around. This is a multi-pack for a great price, and they’re well reviewed.
  11. Portable Phone Charger– Paul has aquired one of these recently, and he cannot get enough of it. It has built in lightening cables (the ones that fit directly into your phone-so you don’t need the cable from your charger). They work super fast and are worth every penny.
  12. Counterman Travel Set– Did you know Beautycounter had a collection for men? We do! It’s not officially all the way out in the world yet, but we’re offering a limited edition preview set this holiday season. It includes a daily exfoliating cleanser, smoothing shave cream, cooling aftershave tonic, and an oil-free face lotion. Men need safer personal care products too. That’s just another way Beautycounter is serving its mission of getting safer products into the hands of everyone. The last time it was available it sold out so get yours while you can.
  13. Beard Oil– Paul said he’s never used beard oil, but he said he’d be open to it. I’m not entirely sure what it’s for other than it’ll make your beard look shiny. I think it’s more for your skin, though. Any beard oil users out there? Worth the hype?
  14. AAA Car Kit– Every man, woman, and teenager needs one of these. Not the most exciting gift, but the day the battery is dead in your car, you’ll be glad you’ve got it.
  15. Sunglasses– Who doesn’t love sunglasses? I picked a classic pair, but if this isn’t for your guy, I recommend asking him to pick them out. I’ve crashed and burned several times because I assumed I knew best. Basically, Paul hasn’t had a Christmas from me in the last three years. Ha! The ones I’ve linked are Armani, so they’re a little pricey. If he’s rough on sunglasses or loses them a lot, I’d recommend checking out Amazon. They have tons of options at crazy good prices.

Other than the Crocs and beer I think it’s alright! And again, if you and/or your man loves Crocs, wear ’em proudly. We prefer actual slippers in the Norman house, that’s all. Hope you’ve found a few things today to put on the list for a few of the men in your life. Seriously, does anyone use the beard oil? I want to know!

I cannot tell you the absolute pleasure it’s been to create these gift guides for y’all. It’s hard work and several hours were spent at the computer, but it was worth it. Thanks for reading along, for commenting, for SUBSCRIBING (thank you for doing that- eeek!), for hanging out with me on Instagram to learn a little more about each gift guide, but mostly for just being a part of this blog thing. I love to share all the things, and I am so happy y’all are hanging out with me here. Subscribe if you haven’t yet, and head over to Instagram to hang out there, too.
