Currently Loving- March 2018

CURRENTLY LOVING- MARCH 2018

March was fun! Overall I had a pretty good month, especially at the end when I went on my first spring break trip since I was in high school.

Waco, Texas and Magnolia Market

My mom and I went on a mother-daughter road trip to Texas and had the best time! We had to visit the mother-ship, Magnolia Market, and you can read all about it here.

One of the things that I bought at Magnolia Market is this bushel basket. I’ve been looking for a basket to put all the throw blankets that seem to drape themselves all over our living room, but I wanted something unique. When I saw this basket, it knew it was exactly what I needed. It’s simple and the perfect memento (well, one of them) that will remind me of our great trip. You’ll see more of my Magnolia and Waco finds in the bathroom reveal.

Reunited and It Feels So Good

I got to see one of my besties when we drove back through Louisiana on our way back from Texas. *And before all my other Louisiana friends get mad, it was Monday morning and you were all at school. I’m coming back this summer, and I’ll be staying longer than an hour. I hope to visit with you all then!* We had the best visit and immediately cried when we saw each other. It’s been a long year and a half. Mason was just a tiny baby when we left, and this time he was talking and running and being adorable. And look at that face! He’s definitely his mama’s child! 😉 Love you, Megan! I’m so happy we got to see each other, and I hope you didn’t mind me sharing the photos of the best way I could have ended my trip.

Beautycounter Social

My friend, Lauren, hosted a Beautycounter social for me this month. All she did was invite a few friends over, we ate snacks, and we played in Beautycounter products. It was a wonderful way to spend a Monday night, and I was able to introduce this company and it’s products to some new people.

I mention the social because it’s so fun and easy to call a few girlfriends over to hear about a safer beauty company and just visit with one another. I also mention this because I just got an email that says things are changing for us consultants, and I get to host more socials! So, who wants to host one? Let’s have some people over, eat guacamole, and wash our faces. I’ll even bring these…These one-step makeup remover wipes are everything (and one of my March favorites). They are biodegradable, use a micellar formula, and are oil free. They remove your makeup and actually clean your face at the same time! They were so convenient for traveling to Waco. My mom loved them too. And I’ve got plenty for the socials I’m hoping you’ll be hosting for me or joining me for. 🙂

Oscars Fashion

My Super Bowl is the Academy Awards. I’ve watched for as long as I can remember and truly love the fashion aspect of Hollywood’s biggest night. I did a full recap post here, but I had to mention it again now because looking at pretty fashion makes me happy.

Brussel Sprouts

Yep, you read that right. Brussel sprouts are in the regular rotation around here. I can’t get enough, and I love their texture. Is that weird? I’m putting together a blog post with the recipe. I adapted my own from this one and will be sharing this week or next. Stay tuned.

Contemporary Service at Southside Baptist Church

This past Sunday was Easter, and I had the privileged of greeting people as they came into the contemporary service. The contemporary service is held in the fellowship hall instead of the main sanctuary, but the sermon given in the main sanctuary usually by the wonderful Herbert Brown (but this past Sunday was from Dr. Sammy Gilbreath) is live streamed into the fellowship hall. The only difference is that the worship music is performed by the youth praise band. And, y’all, it’s amazing what God does with young people. These teenagers are phenomenal. I was so blessed by their talent and how they ushered in the Holy Spirit. It was evident that God showed up in that room. If you’re not into a traditional service, come to church with me Sunday. They are having another contemporary service this weekend, and I’m so excited to hear what they’ll be singing. Church starts at 11:00!

I hope y’all had a great March, too. And here’s to a fabulous April! I’ll be turning another year older, and looking forward to being that much closer to summer break! #teacherlife 🙂

What happened for you in March? Tell me about it!
