Lately, I’ve been dressing for the season and not the weather. It gets a little old when I break a sweat walking from my car to my classroom because October in Alabama is still in the 90s, but we’ve gotten a tad bit of relief in temperature this week, so I feel it’s the right time to share a little fall outfit inspiration. I try to stay on top of the trends for the changing seasons, and I have to say that I’m all over the fall trends this year. Scroll through to see which ones you’d like to try this fall.
- Blazers
I have been very inspired by the menswear look after watching A Simple Favor. Blake Lively made it look so chic. But I need to bring it down a notch for my every day life. A pair of cropped jeans, simple white tee, and pumps make a very effortless backdrop for any blazer. It can be printed like the one on Hayet or a simple black one would be a classic look. You can dress it up with long, dark denim and a sparkly necklace. You can dress it down further with a mule and graphic tee. This trend is one that may come and go, but it’ll always be a classic in my book.
- Flares
Could skinny jeans be on the way out? *Gasp* Though I don’t think they’re being completely fazed out, I do think making way for the ever-flattering flare jean is a great move. Worn best with a pointed toe or platform, these jeans will make you look like you have legs for days. I love how simply Mallory paired them with a white tank and minimal accessories. Wouldn’t this be so cute with a sweater and hat when it gets cooler? I’ll be wearing that exact outfit once the temps drop a little more.
- Camo
I know this is not for everyone and is definitely a true trend, but it’s so fall friendly with it’s earthy green color. It pairs well with denim and even with black leggings. And you can get a super cute camo tunic at Wisteria Cottage. It’s a great price point that lets you try a fall trend without breaking the bank.
- Scarves
Well, if you know me personally, you know that I would include a scarf. But these are a bit different, and I don’t own one like it. Yet. It’s not for warmth, which is great because of how hot it still is in the south. It’s more like a necklace. Just a jazzy little accessory to take your outfit to the next level. I can’t wait to try this trend. Now, I just need to know where to get the cutest ones.
- Fall Dresses
I am loving the flowy dresses of fall. Reminiscent of the sun dress, these are made in deeper fall colors with beautiful prints that don’t all consist of flowers, have long sleeves, and will look good with open or closed toe shoes or a great pair of boots. I definitely plan to add one or two of these to my wardrobe for fall.
- Leopard
To me, leopard is a neutral. It goes with anything and everything, but how great does Cassie’s neutral outfit look with a little punch of animal print? I already have leopard flats, leopard booties, a leopard scarf, etc… but I think I need a leopard dress like the top image or a leopard sweater or handbag…the list goes on and on. I’ll never quit it.
- Comfy and Cozy
If you’re more into the cozy outfits of fall like sweatshirts and long sleeve t-shirts, then you definitely need this one. How cute and southern is this Y’ALL sweatshirt from SFT? Meredith comes up with the cutest designs. I love this one and this color. I think I need to add it to my wardrobe this fall.

Yep. That’s from Walmart. I am loving this Time and Tru collection. This cute dress can also be worn open as a long, lightweight cardigan, too.
Chunky Sweaters and Over the Knee BootsStyle Your Senses
I love this look. Classic fall.
Oversize LeopardLoverly Grey
Usually leopard is small in print. But this oversize look stopped me in my insta-scroll. Isn’t it cute?
