Well, okay, I’m not sure that it’s my favorite gift, because I got a pretty piece of jewelry, some awesome slippers, a few great books, and the clock. It’s ranked up close to the top for sure, and I just wanted to share with you how I styled it.

I saw this clock on a random shopping trip with my friend, Christy. She had never been in At Home before, so naturally I obliged and headed to Montgomery to meet her for some shopping in what I hope at least a section of Heaven looks like. I’m completely obsessed with this store and could spend hours and thousands of dollars in there.

Anyway, we’d gotten through most of the store and were making our way through the mirrors, clocks, and wall art, and I saw the clock. (I can’t find this one online, but I’ve linked a similar one here.) I left one in Waco that I completely fell in love with, but it was broken and didn’t keep time and was a lot more expensive than this one. On this particular trip to At Home I decided I didn’t really need to spend the $80 and left it in store.

I thought about it all the time, and when my parents asked me what I wanted for Christmas, the clock was at the top of the list. They totally came through for me, and I’m so grateful!

I really wanted to share this with you because I had the best plan in my head to take down my gallery wall and replace it with the clock. Well, I did it, and the clock was too small on that huge wall. I was crushed. I put the gallery wall back up, sulked for a bit, then decided I’d try the clock over the buffet. I had originally planned for an old window to go there, but it needs some work with a few tools of which I don’t have, so I’m waiting for my parents to fix it for me. The clock was hung, and surprisingly, I liked it. From there I started moving things around in my living room and pulling from other areas of the house. One of the best and most cost-effective ways to give a space a refresh is to shop your house. Sometimes moving things from room to room can help you to rediscover something you love or help to showcase something that had previously taken a backseat in your home decor.

I love when happy little accidents like that happen. I never would have thought to put the clock here, but it works. My gallery wall is pretty sweet, and I’m kind of glad that I didn’t have to take it down.
Along with the clock I added a lamp I had been using in the bedroom, my brass horse from my Granny, a tiny pedestal and pillar candle, a rustic, wooden picture frame that had been in a stack of unused frames for the past two years we’ve been here, and some faux greenery in an old pickle jar that had been on the dining table for a while but currently didn’t have a home. Didn’t have to spend a penny to set up this area, and I love it.
Have you ever had a home decor happy accident? Tell me in the comments.

I love your clock! Pretty, Pretty!
Thank you! I love it too!
