I got some positive feedback from my first week of outfits, and I just want to thank you for that. Y’all know I’m no fashion blogger nor do I pretend to be, but it’s been fun to do this. I’m still going for a colorful month and so far so good. Here’s what I wore this week.
Monday
I wore the outfit every non-teacher fashion blogger suggests to a teacher. A dress, cardigan, sandals, and cute accessories. Haha! They don’t understand that you can’t sit down facing your students because you’re scared that you’ll flash the room. So, I stood all day unless I was at my desk. It was a nice outfit, but I’d prefer it for running around doing errands rather than teaching. I’ll most likely be sticking with pants from here on out. I talked about the cute earrings my mom got for me from The Leather Feather on my IG stories, and that cute leather bracelet is from The Jeweled Cactus. We had date night Monday, so I shed the cardigan and put on my Time and Tru wedges for a more dressed-up look.
Tuesday
Tuesday was another Pep Club day, so I had to go for comfort. We are prepping for a pep rally on Friday, and one of the other teachers and I had to do squats and dance moves, so I was glad I wore these stretchy denim crops. They were some of the hand-me-downs from my aunt. They are from Cato, but I couldn’t find them online. I linked a similar pair from Target. I paired them with my favorite Time and Tru sandals from Walmart and a luxe tee from Old Navy. This is the tunic length tee, but they don’t have it in this color anymore. Not online anyway. I wore color on color with a very old Walmart clearance necklace, but I linked a prettier option above.
Wednesday
I just wasn’t very inspired by anything in my closet this morning, so I reached for my trusty black and white and called it a day. I did add a pop of color with my pink earrings. I linked a similar pair for you, but I couldn’t find the exact ones I had on. I know they’re Sugar Fix from Baublebar for Target. Maybe you can find them in store.
Thursday
Thursday was out last day for pep club before our big Friday pep rally, so I went with flats, my fave jeans from Old Navy, and a hand-me-down kimono from my aunt. I did a little cuff at the bottom of the jeans because even though I buy the short length in their jeans, they still bunch up a little around my ankles. I like to do a big cuff turned up but fold it back down so there’s no color change that draws your eyes down to my feet. I prefer for it to look streamlined all the way down.
Friday
I wore black on Friday because I got some happy mail with that cute scarf and earrings. The scarf is extremely light weight and came in a starter box for Fab Fit Fun. The earrings are from Eight 28 Boutique. I won a contest with them, and they finally came! They’re also light weight and so cute! I was very comfy all day. And my pep club did such a great job on their dance and cheers at the pep rally. 🙂
Saturday
On Saturday, Paul and I headed to Lake Martin to celebrate Anna and Andrew for one last couples shower before their big day. It was a fiesta themed shower that I thought my dress from Wisteria Cottage would be perfect for. I worked last weekend, and there was still one dress left. A small, I think. It paired well with the earrings that I made. I have upset my bad back again and didn’t get to wear the heels I’d planned on wearing, so old Walmart flats it was. I can’t find the link to the Walmart shoes, but I linked a pair from Amazon. Most of the time, these exact shoes are always on the shelf in Walmart. Check in store for a cheaper price.
I had a really hard time deciding what to wear and changed three times, so here’s what could have been.
Sunday
I wore jeggings and a t-shirt all day until I put on my pjs. With my back being so bad I just wanted to be comfortable and try to stay out of pain. I didn’t take a photo of that outfit. You’re welcome, by the way. 🙂
What I Learned in Week Two
I struggled this week. I wasn’t inspired to wear color and didn’t seem to like anything in my closet. I don’t want to have to repeat too many outfits, and I’m trying not to, but I just couldn’t quite get motivated to want to step out in a lot of color.
I did, however, try picking out clothes the night before. Sometimes it worked, other times I changed my mind the next morning. Having my closet organized makes it so much easier to find something to wear, though.
Looking forward to next week, not having to wake up early for morning duty, and definitely going to be wearing lots of flats. Probably those Walmart slides five days in a row this week. (Unless it gets really bad and I have to bust out the tennis shoes…yikes!)
