The Tank Top You Need Now!

Ladies, I have hit the tank top lottery! It’s modest, lightweight, breathable, soft, and extremely versatile. And here’s the best part: it’s under $5!!! Yes, my friends, this tank top is from our beloved Walmart. I heard my girl Meghan talking about it on her Instastories, so I knew it had to be good. She has the best finds from Walmart, y’all. Anyway, she was showing the black one, so I went out and picked one up the next time I made a grocery run. I literally wore it two days in a row. (I washed it.) And on that second day I went back to the store and bought another black one (I know; don’t judge.) and a white one. They come in several color ways, but you all know how I tend to stick to neutrals.

Here are a few things I like about it: Besides the price it has a crew neck making it very modest for work or play, you can wear a regular bra with it, it fits true to size- I wear an XL for reference, it is long enough and doesn’t shrink when dried on low heat, it is so versatile that it can go from casual to dressy just by swapping your jeans for a skirt. The only thing I’m not loving is that the link to shop online only allows for a two-pack and isn’t offered in all of those colors. I would snag this one in store.

I’ll start with the white tank. First, I’d like to apologize for the poor quality photos. I took them inside the Instagram app (rookie move), and I tried to edit them to look better, but they are pretty sad. However, in the essence of time, I figured I didn’t need to dilly dally on this post, so this is what you’re going to get today. Again, I’m sorry.

I originally bought the white one thinking it would be a great layering piece. It’s thin enough to wear under sweaters and cardigans in the fall, but it’s substantial enough to stand on it’s own. I created a casual look with white pants and a thin sweater and a more work-appropriate look with a blazer and black pants.

The black is the one I originally fell in love with and have worn the most. I tend to wear it alone since it’s hot as blazes outside in Alabama, and I’ve found it easy to transition from casual with jeans to dressy enough for an outfit contender for a Broadway show I’ll be taking in in November.

Tank, Skirt (available in black this year), Shoes, Necklace
Tank, Jeans, Shoes Took this one in the camera app. Can’t you see the difference? A little better.

And all this for under five bucks! I saw it in grey, red, orange, pink, blue, navy, black, and white in our store here in Greenville. Think of the gameday options you could put together Auburn fans. It was a good orange, too. Let me know if you pick one up! I’d love to see your looks, too!

Figured it wouldn’t hurt to see what it looked like with a black cardigan, too. 🙂
