Quarantine Self Care

Happy Beautiful Saturday! I hope you’ve all had a great week and are enjoying the gorgeous day we’re having. This morning I woke up with a desire to do a little self care, and I wanted to do a quick roundup of all the products I used. Most are Beautycounter, but you can always take the idea and adapt to the products you already have in your cabinet.

Here’s what I used and in the order I used them.

I started with the Countercontrol Clear Pore Cleanser in the shower. The microbeads gently exfoliate my skin and is great for my oily, acne prone skin.

After the shower I knew that I’d be dermaplaning my face. Dermaplaning is a fancy way of saying that I shaved my face. I’ve been shaving my face a long time. I wrote a blog post about it a while ago, but I’ve since started using these Tinkle razors, and I like them way better than the other razor I used.

After dermaplaning it was time for my beloved charcoal mask. I have been using this for years and I swear it makes a difference in my skin. I like to use it twice a week (which I actually succeeded at this week) but I usually only get around to once a week and that’s great too! I let this sit on for 10-15 minutes, sometimes longer if I forget that I’m wearing it, then gently wipe off with a warm washcloth.

After the mask I went right in with the rest of my skincare routine. I applied the Toner and the Acne Treatment and then the SOS Acne Spot Treatment on a few blemishes I’ve gotten from my quarantine/birthday treat diet. I’ll apply it again this afternoon to those spots then again before bedtime and they’ll be gone in no time. It’s such a great product to have in your collection for emergencies.

*Let’s pause here for a second to let you know that you certainly don’t have to purchase each product in the Countercontrol line individually. It conveniently comes as a Regimen or as a Collection that includes the SOS Acne Spot Treatment. That’s what I purchased. It’s best for oily, acne prone skin which is basically me and a whole bunch of teenagers. So if your teen is battling the acne, you might want to give this a go. It’s highly effective and made of safer ingredients.

Okay, so after the SOS Spot Treatment I decided to try a little something new which is the No. 1 Brightening Facial Oil. It smells so good-like oranges- because of the Vitamin C in it. I don’t do oils a whole lot because of how oily my skin already is, but I do use them once in a while. I have used the other two oils Beautycounter has but this was my first time using the No. 1. I think it’s lovely and I will continue using it.

*All three oils can be bought in a full size or you could try all three by purchasing the set of mini oils. We have some in inventory that were left from the holidays. It’s a great bang for your buck!

Another great product to use at this point in the self care routine would be the brand new All Bright C Serum that came out this week. It’s a vitamin C serum that has excellent reviews in overall skin brightening.

I let all of these products absorb into my skin for a few minutes before finishing it off with the Matte Effect Gel Cream which is the moisturizer from the Countercontol line.

Then after drying my hair I applied a little mascara and my favorite lip gloss.

If you do feel so inclined to order from Beautycounter, a charcoal bar will be donated to a health care worker. How fantastic!

Okay, now go enjoy this incredible day! I’ve been outside writing this blog post, and I’m just delighted!
