I’m not sure if that title conveys exactly what I am hoping to say, but basically, I’ve found some free resources that have helped me not gain any weight during our quarantine and I’d like to share them with you. I’m not saying I’ve lost any weight, because let’s all be honest and admit that those of us not going to work everyday are definitely snacking more and baking things we wouldn’t normally bake. And of course eating those things! So here are three resources that I’ve found helpful that can all be found on YouTube.
Walk at Home
I’ve found so many one, two, and even three mile walks that I’ve enjoyed doing to help combat the COVID-19 nineteen. When quarantine started at the end of March, it was the height of pollen season around here and getting outside for walks sends me into week-long allergy fits. It’s just not worth it. I know the weather is beautiful but so is the ability to breathe from your nose. These walks are great full-body, multi-muscle walks that I enjoy doing. It’s the workout I’ve done the most since we’ve been staying home.
Jazzercise
When Paul and I first got married I found Jazzercise as a fun way to exercise and dance. Normally there aren’t a lot of Jazzercise videos available on YouTube- certainly not full class workouts. But during the pandemic, the founder’s daughter and several of their instructors have been filming classes and putting them on Youtube for all of us. I’m not gonna lie, it’s hard. Like, I had to use my inhaler after the first workout that I did kind of hard. Ha! But it was definitely a successful workout since I was sore the next day. It’s an hour long workout with cardio and strength training, and y’all, it’s actually fun. Definitely hard but lots of fun and worth the inhaler puffs.
Fabulous 50s
Yep, that does say 50s. I just turned 34, but sometimes my back pretends it’s 80. I like to use her low impact, short, strength training workouts. Also, she’s from Australia so she’s super fun to hear talk. She has so many and I’ve done a lot. I like the one above because of the beautiful scenery. It’s a great place to start if you haven’t lifted a weight in a while. She’s also got plenty of videos on tips to look and feel your best in your 50s.
Obviously there’s a ton of things out there for you to try. I’ve seen so many people offering free trials for different apps, and there’s always the option to just go take a walk or a jog. But if you just want to try something new, if you’re bored, or if it’s raining and you can’t get outside, then I’d definitely recommend these three channels to get you started.
I should also note that I’m not a doctor and do not think you should do any of these things without asking if it’s safe for you first. 🙂
I enjoyed your blog 😊
Thank you! 🙂
