5 Good Things | No. 19

Anyone else enjoy those frosty mornings last week? I sure did! Happy Monday, friends! I hope you all enjoyed your weekend and found a few things that brought you joy. I’ve been missing these posts lately because of a number of things that came up over the weekends or during the week that kept me from prioritizing the blog. I did keep up on Instagram, so if you aren’t following me there, head over and join in! I do have five good things for you today, so scroll on through.

She Reads Truth Advent Bible Study

Like many of you, I’d heard of She Reads Truth before, but I’ve never done a Bible study by them or followed them on Instagram. This year my mom decided to order an Advent Bible study for me as a sweet surprise, and I have thoroughly been enjoying it. You can still purchase the digital version to catch up and join me as we prepare for Christmas day and the birth of Jesus. As fun as Christmas can be, I, personally, like to set aside some time each day to focus on the true meaning of the season. This is my first Advent study, and I’m enjoying it immensely. I highly recommend it!

Barefoot Contessa: Chicken Thighs with
Creamy Mustard Sauce

I am a long-time fan of Ina Garten and record her TV show every week. Yes, even the reruns. In watching these reruns and even the new shows, I’ve seen this recipe twice. Well, for the AU/LSU game Paul and I headed to my brother’s and sister-in-law’s house to watch the game, and they set out a meat and cheese board for us with this whole grain mustard that is in Ina’s mustard chicken thigh recipe. It’s delicious on a meat and cheese board, but it’s even better on the chicken. I had to grab mine from Publix while I was in Montgomery over Thanksgiving break, but you can get it here. Paul and I really enjoyed this meal and can attest to how delicious that chicken is when cooked as instructed in the recipe. No need to add the mustard cream sauce. Definitely give this one a try.

Pantene Dry Shampoo

I noticed my hair wasn’t responding to my homemade dry shampoo like it used to. I’m not sure why our hair decides to have a mind of it’s own from time to time, but mine is going through an identity crisis, apparently. I needed a quick fix and saw some influencer talking about the new dry shampoo from Pantene. I found it at Walmart one shopping trip, and gave it a try. At just under $7, I knew it wouldn’t break the bank, and if it didn’t work well, I’d be okay with only being out $7. I was pleasantly surprised, however, and I plan to repurchase this one. Be aware that it has a strong smell, but it doesn’t stink. It’s just very fragrant.

The Roost Jewelry

Saturday came around, and I needed to get some Christmas shopping done. I knew The Roost had a few things I needed, so I headed out with Mom and had a look around. I had seen the new jewelry they posted on Instagram, but then I saw it in person. Wowza! They are stunning. I didn’t buy any because Christmas, but I think they’re so chic. They’d be perfect for any fashionista on your list this year.

Virgin River is BACK!

Virgin River season 2 is in the air. what we know till now. - VideoTapeNews

It wouldn’t be a 5 Good Things post without a little something to watch on TV. Last Friday, Virgin River came back, and though I’m not finished, I’m working my way through it and loving it! If you’ve never watched, I highly recommend it. I didn’t wait around for Paul when watching this one, but I definitely thing the guys will like this one, too.

Okay, go make the best of this week! We’re so close to Christmas and close to a break from work for a few days. I hope you accomplish many things on your to-do list and also find some good things throughout your week. Got any good things from last week? Drop them in a comment. I’d love to celebrate with you.
