Tailgate Tuesday- Italian Pretzels

I made this delicious snack on a Friday night and snacked on so many after they came out of the oven that I didn’t want dinner.

Yep, they’re that good.

I saw the recipe somewhere on Facebook and then found even more recipes on Pinterest. Holy cow! Do you know how many ways you can make pretzels taste delicious? Neither do I; I can’t count that high.

I’m extremely glad I gave this recipe a try. At least I know I’ll like them if no one else watching the football game with me does. 🙂

I used the most generic items I could find…because budget. I used Great Value pretzels and vegetable oil (which I already had). I also already had the garlic salt, and the Italian dressing mix was the only brand I saw at the store and was inexpensive.

It couldn’t be easier to mix up. You just put everything in a giant bowl, gently mix it around, transfer to a baking sheet and put in the oven.

You do have to pay attention to them as they’re cooking. The recipe says to stir them every fifteen minutes of the hour that they cook.

Ingredients:

1 bag of pretzels

1 cup of vegetable oil

1 packet of Italian dressing mix

1 tablespoon of garlic salt.

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 200°F
  2. Pour bag of pretzels, oil, and seasonings into a large bowl.
  3. Stir gently with a rubber spatula.
  4. Pour pretzels onto a large baking sheet spreading evenly.
  5. Bake for one hour, stirring every 15 minutes.
  6. Let cool and enjoy.

These pretzels are excellent. They would make a great teacher gift or hostess gift packaged in a cute bag or in a big mason jar. Give these a try and let me know how you like them and how everyone else liked them, too! And send them my way for the recipe.

I almost forgot, did anyone make the Sausage Stuffed Jalapenos from last week’s post? How’d it go? Tell me in the comments.
