The longest month of the year is FINALLY over! I feel as happy about that as James and Margaret look up there. 🙂 I totally felt that whole January 77th thing that was floating around the internet. The upside of a long month is that I’ve got lots to share. So settle in for a little bit and see what I’ve been loving this past month.

What I Read in 2019
If you’ve been around for a while, you know that I love to read. I’m in a book club, I subscribe to the Buzzfeed Books Newsletter, and I follow several Bookstagramers. I usually average a book a month, but this year I managed to work in twenty two books! Yes, several were audio books, but I consider that “reading” as well. If reading is your thing, scroll on through to see if you’ve read the books on my list or if there are a few titles you need to add to your TBR (to be read) list.

Hi, friends! Long time no see. I took a little break from blogging, and I’m happy to return today. I tend to take breaks periodically. I admit that this time around it has had a lot to do with the time of year and the stress of my teaching job. It’s all caused a lull in creativity for the blog, and for that I apologize. I’m hoping 2020 brings more clarity and creativity for this space and just for life in general. But for now let’s recap the last month of 2019. Grab your coffee or tea or wine and let’s get started.

Happy, happy December! Though I thoroughly enjoyed November, I’m so happy to do all things Christmas. It really does feel like the most wonderful time of the year. I think a lot of that is because it’s so visually pleasing and the music is so good. 🙂 I know that music comment won’t go over well with a few of you (ahem, Paul), but I don’t care. I am who I am. November was particularly busy and fun. If you’re new around here my monthly wrap-ups are about things I’ve done and products I’ve enjoyed. It’s basically a monthly account of what life has been like for me. It started off pretty great and ended great, too. Let’s get started.

I’ve never been a big believer in superstition. Sure, I’ll knock on wood or throw salt over my shoulder, but when it come to sports, I know it’s completely out of my hands. Until last night.

Leopard print is one of those patterns that has truly stood the test of time. We wear it year round but we tend to love it more in the fall and winter months. I think it’s because of the warm colors and the way it goes with the darker ones like plum, forest green, and mustard yellow. I raided my closet and scoured the internet for some great options for us this season and next (though it feels like winter out there right now).

So I’d like to know where October went. I feel like it was just October 1st. Wow, what a busy month! I keep a running list of things that I love about each month, and I have to say that this month’s list is quite long. So grab your coffee and settle in.

I made this dessert recently and tried it out on some of our friends because they don’t mind being the guinea pigs when it comes to cooking. The last dessert I took to their house was the Butterfinger cake I shared back in December. Our friend’s response was that he might even like the fruit pizza better than the Butterfinger cake. That’s saying something since he really likes that cake. I promised this recipe back in the summer when I posted about my original fruit pizza, so here you go.

Happy Friday Eve! I hope your week has been going well, and I hope that today’s and tomorrow’s work days are fast! It’s been quite a long week for me, and this teacher is tired! Report cards go out next week, so we’ve all been making sure our I’s are dotted and our T’s are crossed before everything is set to be submitted. Teachers, you feel me right? Not gonna lie, it’s felt a lot like this lately.

But, the weekend is almost here and so is our fall break, which is really just one day and then a work day. I’ll take what I can get, though.

Happy October 1st! That’s a thing we do in the Norman family. My mother-in-law’s family started it, I’m pretty sure, and now every first day of the month, it’s a competition to say, “Happy ____ 1st!” first.
