3 Things that Helped Me Survive the First Week of School

Yes, that’s right. School is officially in full swing. Excuse me while I go cry and mourn the end of summer.

And I had the flu, so that was fun. It seriously threw in some serious chinks to my chain, and I was not at all prepared like I had hoped to be for going back to school.

Seven on a Saturday- How To: Leopard Home Decor

Happy Saturday my friends! I made it a whole week back at work. I always forget how tired I am during this time of the school year. Gracious! However, I’ve got one of my favorite things to talk about today- leopard print! Clearly, I’m a fan and, truthfully, always have been. It can be easy to take leopard to a tacky place, so I’m showing you seven ways to do it tastefully. Some are wild and some are tame, some are the traditional neutral colors while others are bright and bold. Every photo is linked to its source for your convenience.

Currently Loving- July 2019

Hi friends! You guys, I made a list of the things I’ve been loving this month, and it is so long! I love that and hope that that will continue for the rest of the year. I’ve found so many small things to love and be thankful for this month, and I’m just happy to share so you can be reminded to stop and appreciate the small things, too.

Seven on a Saturday- Clever Doormat Ideas

Hello and happy Saturday, friends! My summer is officially over, and that means my mind is on overdrive thinking of all the other things I wish I had time to do. Like purchase a new doormat and some plants for the entrance of my apartment to make it that much happier of a place to come home to after getting back to the real world. I’m basically crying just writing those words. I don’t want summer to end! Mostly because it’s insanely too hot to start school right now but also because I’d just be a darling housewife. 🙂

What You Should Watch Next and What You can Skip

We all know TV in the summertime can be really bad. There’s typically only reruns or dumb filler shows on prime time TV. This is good, though, because it allows us to catch up on the Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, HBO, and Hulu shows we want to watch. Which is exactly what I did this summer. I mentioned in this post what I was planning to watch this summer. Well, not all plans work out but sometimes that’s for the best. Here’s a breakdown of what I’ve watched, what I liked, what I didn’t, and what I didn’t get around to.

Seven on a Saturday- Bathroom Inspiration

Happy Saturday, friends! Do you remember when I gave our guest bathroom a little refresher? And then I decided to share a before of our master bath? A $6 Kitchen Refresh

Happy Friday! It’s almost the weekend, folks! This is equal parts good and bad for me. This is technically my last one before I report back to my day job of teaching. I am never ready to go back after summer break. I could seriously get used to the housewife life. 🙂
I’ve had a good summer, though, and have accomplished several tasks I had on my to-do list. One of them was to give my kitchen a refresh. With my creativity flowing after doing a rug switcheroo at my parents’ house, I started “shopping” my home and reorganizing. Then I got a notion to change the hardware on the cabinets and drawers. That google search lead to many unnecessary dollars potentially being spent, so I decided to really get creative in how I could change the existing knobs.

What I Actually Read This Summer

Back in early June I put together a list of books I had on my TBR (to be read) list for the summer. It was lofty for me, but I knew I wanted to get in as many books as I could before school started back. Well, sadly summer is coming to a close, and I wanted to see how my actual book reading held up to my TBR list.

The Tank Top You Need Now!

Ladies, I have hit the tank top lottery! It’s modest, lightweight, breathable, soft, and extremely versatile. And here’s the best part: it’s under $5!!! Yes, my friends, this tank top is from our beloved Walmart. I heard my girl Meghan talking about it on her Instastories, so I knew it had to be good. She has the best finds from Walmart, y’all. Anyway, she was showing the black one, so I went out and picked one up the next time I made a grocery run. I literally wore it two days in a row. (I washed it.) And on that second day I went back to the store and bought another black one (I know; don’t judge.) and a white one. They come in several color ways, but you all know how I tend to stick to neutrals.

Hair Tutorial Companion | How to Use a Curling Iron to Curl Your Hair

Yes, I’m still talking about this hair tutorial. But you people are the ones who asked for it. I’m just giving the people what they want. 🙂 In all seriousness, you were all so sweet to ask me for a hair tutorial, and I finally got it done over on Instagram. I saved it in my Highlights under “Hair”. So many of you have sent me pictures saying that you have tried it, and you all look fabulous!
I did come across some questions that I thought would be beneficial to address here so that everyone can use this post as a reference point. Sort of like a hair tutorial companion, if you will. I’ll link it in my Instagram bio so that it can be accessed any time. Thank you for all your questions, comments, and feedback. You made me feel like I wasn’t quite the fool I felt I was. Haha!
