Despite the photo above, we had quite a busy week in the Norman house. It’s been a while since things have been busy around here. For me, anyway. Paul hasn’t stopped working, so I guess I’m the only one who feels like it’s different. I got my hair done, went to Montgomery, and went in actual stores and interacted with sales associates. Several things that seem so normal that we haven’t been able to do in months, all done with a mask, of course, but I got to do them nonetheless. Looking forward to a new week full of more normal things.

What a week last week was! I did some major adulting on Wednesday and bought new tires for my car. Hurt my feelings a little when he told me how much they cost, but I feel much better knowing I’m safer on the road. We attended a birthday party Friday night for Paul’s brother and his wife. Finally, Paul ran a big golf tournament over the weekend. Needless to say, we are rather tired and this week is shaping up to be just as busy. I’ve got a list of 5+ things to share with you this week. Let’s get started.

What a week, friends. I typed out a witty caption earlier in the week to go with Jack’s picture. But it just doesn’t feel right anymore.
I am deeply saddened by the events that have taken place this week. I listened to a sermon on Sunday that referenced the fact that we take on average 16 breaths in a minute. George Floyd was deprived that for nearly 9 minutes. We must do better as a human race. I know we can. And we will. The negative will always make the headline news. But let’s try making news in our own communities by making changes that are for the good. It’s up to us. Start in your heart, educate yourself, teach your family, and spread it to the world.

Today starts my first official week of summer! I’ve already got a list of projects I want to do, and I’ve started on one of them. Remember those Target curtains I talked about a few weeks ago? Well, I felt like they were missing something. I searched the ‘gram for some inspiration and found it in these curtains from Jewel Marlowe. Jewel has provided tons of inspiration for home decor because more is more when it comes to home decor for her, and she does it so well. Check out her home.

Monday again! However, this is sort of my last workday Monday. Woo Hoo! Today is my day to head to school and clean up my classroom and close out the school year. I’d say the 2019-2020 school year will go down as the strangest year I’ve had of my teaching career. I’m sure that goes for most of us teachers. We did get some good news in finding out that the Hamilton movie, which is just the Broadway stage production with the original cast filmed, will be coming to Disney+ on July 3rd! My theater nerd self is stoked! Who else is excited?

So the weather man said we’ll be in the 90s by the end of the week, and I’m not happy about it. I loved the cooler temperatures from the weekend. I spent most of Saturday outside on the deck under the umbrella with a new book. Can you believe I got Bernie smiling for the camera? I’m framing that photo. I also came across a few other things I wanted to share with you.

Bonjour! (I’m learning French in quarantine! More on that later.)
Isn’t Jack sweet in the sunshine? He does this most every day, and I think it’s so dang precious.
I have to say how much I’m actually enjoying quarantine. I mean, today, this particular day that I’m writing this blog, I’m very motivated and have crushed my to-do list for the past two days. Tomorrow might be one of those days that I have a horrible day, because haven’t we all had them? But today I’m feeling good about things and loving that I’m finally feeling like getting back to this blog and sharing some of my favorite things from this month with you.
Three FREE Resources to Help Avoid the COVID-19 Nineteen
I’m not sure if that title conveys exactly what I am hoping to say, but basically, I’ve found some free resources that have helped me not gain any weight during our quarantine and I’d like to share them with you. I’m not saying I’ve lost any weight, because let’s all be honest and admit that those of us not going to work everyday are definitely snacking more and baking things we wouldn’t normally bake. And of course eating those things! So here are three resources that I’ve found helpful that can all be found on YouTube.

Happy Beautiful Saturday! I hope you’ve all had a great week and are enjoying the gorgeous day we’re having. This morning I woke up with a desire to do a little self care, and I wanted to do a quick roundup of all the products I used. Most are Beautycounter, but you can always take the idea and adapt to the products you already have in your cabinet.
